 Montag goes home only to realize that he doesn't love mildred and he hardly even knows her. He is also starting to realize that burning books isn't right and that he doesn't think that firemen always were the people starting the fires. They also ended up burning a lady alive with her books because she would rather die than leave the books. 


Literary elements: 

Simile: Beatty was looking at him as if he were a museum statue. 

Situational Irony:  Mildred spends all her time in the living room but, she has never lived

    This is skimpy. Go further with the summary and then write a paragraph about why these pages are important. Analyze the pages.

Chapter 1:  What Happened: Jem and Scout wonder upon a young boy, who is four, that offers to read anything of theres. Now obviously this is a little bit weird, but Jem and Scout act as if it is nothing.
