Night (pages 98-115)


1)    How does Elie feel after the death of his father?   He wants to feel bad, but he can't, he in essence feels relieved in a way knowing he can focus on his strength and not have to take care of his father anymore,
2)    Why do the Germans decide to liquidate Buchenwald and evacuate the prisoners? They know that American's are coming to take over the camp.
3)    What stops the final evacuation of the prisons from camp? It is to late for them to leave so they have to wait until the morning
4)    What is the first act of the prisoners after the Americans begin to arrive? They go and get food and water until they are fool and they eat some more.
5)    What stares back at Elie at the end of the novel? The living corpse of him. He didn't know how malnourished and awful they treated him.

Relate this chapter to the theme of fathers and sons.  

This chapter alone they mentioned how many fathers and son split up. A boy on the train car murdered his father for a small piece of bread and was killed directly after. When Elie's father died he felt happiness and he new it was wrong, however now he new he could survive. The burdin of having to take care of somebody ripped them from their  families.
